These studies will develop the drummer's ability to play subdivided rhythmic durations against each other. In fact this is the essence of drumming - keeping time on multiple levels. Attention to all essential note durations is given with the bar divided by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, etc., as is appropriate.
